Onam is an annual festival celebrated in the South-Indian state - Kerala. It is a harvest festival celebrated by the Malayalam speaking people of Kerala. According to legends, the festival is celebrated to commemorate old King Mahabali, whose spirit is said to visit his people at the time of Onam. Onam is a major annual event for Malayali community in and outside India and is celebrated as a state festival regardless of religion.Ente Canada Onachantha is a festival fair which includes fun rides for kids, food stalls like Onasadya ( traditional Onam feast) , Payasam ( Porridge) Mela , different vendor stalls for clothing and jewellery, gift items, groceries and likewise. The fair goes live from 11am - 11 pm and there will be cultural events and performances throughout the event. The performances include dance, music showcasing talents from different parts of India and not just Kerala.
The Fourth chapter of Onachantha falls on September 7th, this year, on Saturday at 📍Woodbridge Fairgrounds, Vaughan, ON.
Fair provides FREE ENTRY to public and goes live from 11 am - 11 pm.
