On the Edge of Wild: Poems at Maury & Mt. Olivet

New this year to our seasonal poetic jaunts: exploring an(other) old South Richmond cemetery on a Saturday afternoon.
Founded in 1874, the story of M & M in many ways runs parallel to the story of the city itself, with racial lines blurring and dividing, history and river-swept views criss-crossing this seemingly forgotten corner of South Richmond.
In partnership with the Friends of Maury and Mt. Olivet, we'll be exploring, taking in the history as well as the vistas, sharing verses and possibly scribbling down some new ones.
What to bring: poems to share (yours or someone else's), a notebook & writing utensil, phone/camera, good walking shoes, and hydration/light snacks.
Curious to know more before heading out? We recommend dropping over at https://mauryolivetfriends.org.
RSVP required. Send a line to [email protected] and let us know you're planning on coming!
