On Sunset and Nowhere / Army of God

On Sunset and Nowhere is a short play about a curious and unlikely-to-meet-elsewhere group of customers at a Taco stand in Los Angeles. The play is about regret and illusions. It's about taking a final, failing stab at friendship and the hope of the kindness of strangers. Our characters are flawed and self-obsessed. They have tunneled in to their own visions of the world and enjoy living within their illusions. There is innocence, defeat, yearning, and determination. Our short play attempts to explore our fading grasps at understanding where we came from, where we are, and where we are going.

Army of God is a 25 minute one-act play that follows an extended interaction between a neurotic real estate agent, his eccentric wife, and a missionary who shows up on the doorstep of their midcentury modern home in Santa Monica.

This performance is part of the Daredevil Arts Festival, a multi-weekend performing arts festival co-presented by Electric Lodge and Pacific Resident Theatre, celebrating bold voices and multidisciplinary storytelling in the Venice community.
