Join the Olney community for one of the biggest and most anticipated events of the summer as we come together to celebrate and support our local first responders!
Held annually on the first Tuesday in August, Olney’s National Night Out brings neighbors, families, businesses, community organizations, and first responders together for an evening focused on connection, safety, and community spirit.
This FREE, family-friendly event is sponsored nationally by the National Association of Town Watch (NATW) and locally by the Olney Chamber of Commerce with support from our incredible community partners:
🚓 Montgomery County Police Department — 4th District
🚒 Sandy Spring Volunteer Fire Department
🌳 Montgomery County Recreation
🚔 Maryland-National Capital Park Police
Recognized as the largest National Night Out celebration in Montgomery County, Olney’s event has earned national recognition for outstanding community participation, first responder involvement, and community engagement — ranking among the top participating communities worldwide.
✨ Event highlights include:
🇺🇸 Opening ceremony featuring elected officials and VIPs
🎶 DJ and live entertainment
💃 Dance and martial arts performances
👁️👂Free vision & hearing screening for adults and children
🚒 Fire and crime prevention demonstrations
🆔 Child ID fingerprint kits provided by the U.S. Secret Service
🎨 Crafts, face painting, giveaways, and activities for all ages
🤝 More than 75 local businesses, nonprofits, state & county agencies, and community organizations
Elected officials and community leaders traditionally begin their National Night Out celebrations in Olney, making this a special evening that brings our entire community together.
