About this Event
The Movement Corps invites you and your family to Ollie’s Eight-Alarm Carnival, a special, community-wide wonder-fest! We are blending the awe of a modern circus (magicians, jugglers, balloon artists) with the excitement of a fire-truck-themed adventure.
We are activating the spot for a special public wonder-fest celebrating Oliver’s 8th Birthday. Oliver and his family are new to The Movement Corps, his dad is The Armada Effect's guitarist (The Movement Corps band), so we’re inviting THE WHOLE COMMUNITY to come and meet them!
Upon arrival, Junior Cadets can pick up an "Alarm Card." Their mission is to navigate the carnival, participate in the activities, and get their card stamped by our featured performers:
- Observe the Magician to find the "Hidden Spark."
- Test your coordination at the Juggler’s station.
- Meet the Balloon Artist for a "K-9 Unit" (dog) balloon.
- Complete The Movement Corps "Stop, Drop, and Roll" agility challenge.
The final stamp is the most important: Reporting to Command Station No. 8 to meet "Fire Chief Oliver" and be "sworn in" as an Official Junior Hero!
Tickets: Tickets are Free but any donations made to The Movement Corps will ensure we have enough scavenger hunt supplies and balloon animals for all cadets.
Special Guests: We have invited MCFR Belleview Station 18 to join us with an engine for a special appearance (dependent on their schedule). The Armada Effect will also perform and debut new material!
Come for the magic, stay for the community. Let’s make Oliver’s 8th a memory he (and you!) will never forget.
Event Logistics & "The Fine Print"
To ensure everyone has a blast at the Eight-Alarm Carnival, here is everything you need to know before you arrive.
Seating & Shade: We will have some chairs available, but definitely not enough for everyone! Please bring your own lawn chairs or picnic blankets. Feel free to bring a pop-up tent if you’d like to create your own "command center" in the shade.
Food & Drink: We will be serving Birthday Cake to celebrate Oliver! For those with a bigger appetite, we have Pop's Grab n Go Food Truck on-site with delicious options for purchase. You are also more than welcome to bring your own coolers for snacks and drinks.
Parking (Crucial!): Parking is available at several neighboring businesses along 112th Street and 113th Street. * IMPORTANT: Please DO NOT park at Al & Sons. We want to remain great neighbors, and their lot is strictly off-limits for this event.
Facilities: A porta-potty will be available on-site for your convenience.
Being Good Neighbors: We are able to offer these community events for free thanks to the incredible generosity of our neighbors and local businesses. Please be extra respectful of all properties, keep the area clean, and help us leave all areas better than we found it!
