Olive Oil Uncovered: A Mediterranean inspired Focaccia Baking Class

Join me for an immersive, hands-on experience where we make a luscious, sourdough focaccia that is olive oil-rich and at the same time explore the flavors of olive oil from around the world.

The first half of this class focuses on the art of bread making with a deep dive into sourdough. In the second half of class, we turn our attention to olive oil - includes tastings!

In class you will:

• Learn the art of making authentic focaccia — from mixing dough to those signature dimples and that glorious golden crust.
• Learn how to care for your own sourdough starter — it's so much easier than you think. The starter you will use in class (and take home) is over 20 years old!

• Dive into olive oil: how it’s made, what quality looks and tastes like, how to choose and use it, how its flavor changes in bread, and why it matters.

• Taste olive oil from around the world, explore their characteristics and discover how good oil elevates simple ingredients. We will use focaccia samples and a salad as our medium for tasting through three different olive oils.

• Make your own focaccia loaf, infused with premium olive oil, customize it with herbs and toppings, and leave with a deeper appreciation of how oil and bread come together.

• Walk away with your loaf to proof and bake at home, as well as your own sourdough starter.
