-Please join us on Sunday night, March 8th, after worship for a special time of learning, praise, and fellowship as we shine the spotlight on the word of God with an Old Testament Bible Character Parade
🌟🌟 Pointing to Jesus 🌟🌟
As we come to the end of our study of the Old Testament and prepare to step into the New, our children are beginning to see something beautiful,
the whole Bible tells one big story that leads to Jesus!
Jesus is the fulfillment of the shadows, feasts, law, and prophecies.
Every Old Testament lesson over the past two years has included a “Jesus connection,” showing how each smaller story fits into the one big God story, and His redemption of mankind.
It’s like tracing a thread woven through generations of history through God’s relationship with His people. As we approach the New Testament, we can almost see that thread fully untangled.
To celebrate this milestone, we’re inviting children (and adults 🤗) to dress as their favorite Old Testament Bible character and share one simple sentence:
“I am ___, and I point to Jesus because ___.”
Costumes can be very simple.
Robes, towels, cardboard props, or printed name signs are perfect.
There’s no need to purchase anything special.
Why it matters:
•This is a Big Truth we’re teaching!
•We celebrate many holidays and events in many ways with little to no spiritual value in them.
•We want to shine the spotlight on the word of God, showing our children it is priority over ALL other things and activities in our lives!
•We are pointing our children to Christ!
•He is worthy of our time, celebration, praise, and thankfulness!
Thank you for partnering with us to help your child grow in their understanding of God’s Word. We can’t wait to celebrate how every promise finds its “Yes” in Christ!
