Old Sturbridge Village 3rd Degree

To mark the celebration of the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence and the founding of the nation, the Brethren of Major General Salem Towne Lodge AF&AM, in collaboration with the Colonial Craftsmen Degree Team will be conferring the Master Mason Degree for a worthy Brother on the evening of Thursday, August 20th, at Old Sturbridge Village.
All Master Masons are invited to attend this unique presentation of the Third Degree - To commemorate this special occasion a limited edition Challenge Coin is being struck and will be available for purchase for $20.00 (Cash).
A Pasta & Meatball Dinner will be served at the Bullard Tavern from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM. The cost for dinner is $20.00 per person, cash at the door - RSVPs are GREATLY APPRECIATED
The Degree will be conferred beginning at 7:00 PM on Old Sturbridge Village Common. As a living history museum that recreates rural New England life from the 1790's to the 1830's access to electricity is limited and the majority of the Degree will be completed by Moon, torch and lantern light.
Most of the evening’s work will be done outdoors, regardless of weather, and Brethren should plan to dress accordingly - There is no rain date for this event.
Appropriate attire for the evening is tuxedo for Lodge, District, & Grand Lodge Officers and Masonic Casual, defined as a collared shirt, jacket & tie, dress pants, and dress shoes, for Brethren.
Access to Old Sturbridge Village will be through the Security Gate located at the top of the central parking lot - Seating is limited and it is recommended Brethren bring lawn chairs - Event updates will be posted as they become available.
