Old Mills Trail Extension Kickoff Party
About this Event
Kickstart the first phase of the long-awaited extension of the Old Mills Trail along the Rivanna River with a party!
The Old Mills Trail currently follows the east bank of the Rivanna River for 2.5 miles from Darden Towe to a terminus near Interstate 64. This first phase will include a bridge, railroad shelter and about a mile of trail into lands owned by Monticello that have never been open to the public before.
Come learn about this exciting project and how you might be able to contribute. County Parks staff and others will be on hand to answer questions. We'll take a short (but steep) walk to the future trail location nearby.

This event is free and open to all! Drinks and snacks will be served. Proper footwear for the walk and registration is recommended.
The Annual Rivanna River Basin Commission Conference will run earlier day from 9:30 a.m. - 3 p.m.
