About this Event
Thanks to a unique community partnership with Central Oregon Intergovernmental Council (COIC), the Multi-Agency Coordinating (MAC) group, City of Bend, Oregon Governor Tina Kotek’s office, Fortify Holdings, and R&H Construction, previously unhoused residents will move into the renovated Old Mill & Suites on October 1.
To celebrate this important milestone, Fortify Holdings and the MAC invite community partners to tour the 76-unit Old Mill Apartments. Out of respect for new tenants’ privacy, this tour is not open to the public.
The Old Mill Apartments is a supportive rehousing project that received original funding from Governor Kotek’s executive orders to address the state's housing and homelessness crisis as well as from HB 5019. The project targets unsheltered, homeless populations, with regionally determined priority placement for those who are medically vulnerable, LGBTQ+ youth, and the BIPOC community. As project participants, tenants will be connected to and offered supportive services.
Join us for a tour of the newly refurbished units, the leasing office, and the shared laundry room facility. Hear from community and elected leaders who will share the hard work and trust that brought this public-private housing partnership to fruition, as well as outline what remains to be done to sustain this supportive rehousing development in Bend for the long term.
