Some memories aren't ours. They're inherited, handed down through a song your parents played too loud, a story your grandmother told a hundred times, a feeling you can't quite place but somehow know. That's the heart of Almost Ours, Samajh My Gal’s new magazine, and it's what we're celebrating. The essence of wanting to return to a time you never really got to experience but have heard through stories, memories and the people around you.
Join us for a night honouring dual-heritage South Asian art and creative work, and everything nostalgia means to the people who made it and to you! Be one of the first to see this exciting issue in person!
The evening includes a good mix of:
- An engaging, curated open mic & panel discussion with some of our contributors
- Live DJ set with curated, nostalgic Desi music
- Mehndi (henna) artist
- Games
- Food
- Lots and lots of networking!
- A memory wall that grows through the night
