Okoromai-Clansman Reserve restoration morning
Join us for a morning of volunteering at the stunning Okoromai-Clansman Reserve in Army Bay! Nestled at the end of the Whangaparāoa Peninsula, just before Shakespear Regional Park, this reserve is a hidden gem in need of some TLC.
RHB has partnered with local residents to help remove invasive weeds and restore the natural habitat. By doing this, we're improving the chances for rare native species of birds, lizards, and insects to spread along the peninsula and into this beautiful reserve. 🦋🐦
🗓 When: 4th Saturday of every month, 10 AM – 12 PM
📍 Where: Enter the reserve from the end of Okoromai Views and walk down the hill.
Bring your friends, family, and anyone keen to help out—whether you can stay for a little or the whole morning, we'd love to have you!
🔹 What to bring/wear: Gardening gloves, water bottle, gumboots (or sturdy boots), weather-appropriate clothing. All tools provided.
