DECANT is hosting a Japanese Soul Food pop-up!
On Sunday, June 28th from 2–6pm, Okkon Japanese Street Food is coming to Napa to cook okonomiyaki from scratch. Okkon is Satoshi and Sachi Kamimae, an Oakland-based husband-and-wife team who have spent years bringing Japanese street food to Bay Area wine bars, breweries, and farmers markets — and their food is the real deal!

This is a casual, drop-in event. Come hungry, stay for a glass of wine, and let Okkon do the rest.

What to Expect:

• Fresh, made-to-order okonomiyaki with optional toppings
• Scratch-made sauce, mayo, and dough
• Wine available by the glass from DECANT's cellar
• A relaxed Sunday afternoon in Napa

Food is available for purchase at the event. Wine, Sake, Beer, and Alcohol-Free drinks by the glass or bottle also available.

About Okkon:

Okkon is a husband-and-wife operation out of Oakland, California, dedicated to sharing okonomiyaki — one of Japan's most beloved street foods — with the Bay Area and beyond. Satoshi and Sachi Kamimae have popped up everywhere from Izakaya Rintaro to Temescal Brewing, and this is their first time in Napa.

What is Okonomiyaki?

Okonomiyaki is a Japanese savory pancake, translated to "ask you like it, grilled". Okkon's version starts with a dough made from scratch, filled with delicious ingredients like pork belly, mountain yam, cabbage, green onion, and egg, and bound by a dashi broth built from four types of fish and kombu seaweed. The sauce and mayo are made fresh. Bonito flakes go on top. Optional add-ins fold into the pancake itself.
