Guy's Karate School is honoured to welcome Takeshi Uema Sensei (7th Dan) from Okinawa, Japan, for a special seminar on Saturday, 19 September 2026.
Uema Sensei is one of the senior instructors of traditional Shorin-ryu Shubukan Karate, a style with its roots in Shuri, Okinawa – the birthplace of Karate. Having dedicated decades to preserving and teaching authentic Okinawan Karate, he brings a wealth of knowledge, technical skill and traditional philosophy that is rarely available in Australia.
Whether you train in Karate or another martial art, this seminar offers a unique opportunity to learn directly from a highly respected Okinawan master. Students will gain valuable insights into traditional kata, practical applications, body movement, timing, power generation and the principles that have been passed down through generations.
This seminar is open to all martial artists, regardless of style or organisation. Everyone is welcome.
