This class is enrolling 1st through 6th graders!
Get ready to look at the world in a whole new way! In this fun, hands-on art class, we’ll explore the world of Georgia O'Keeffe, one of New Mexico's most famous artists. O'Keeffe was known for painting big, beautiful close-ups of flowers, animals, and natural objects. She took things we see every day and turned them into amazing works of art by focusing on just one part of the subject—like a petal or a rock—and making it bold, bright, and full of life.
In this class, we’ll learn how to create our own O'Keeffe-inspired close-up art. You’ll:
🎨Choose an object (a flower, leaf, or anything from nature!).
🎨Look at it closely, focusing on details like colors, shapes, and textures.
🎨Use paints, pastels, or colored pencils to zoom in on a single part of the object and make it the star of your artwork.
🎨Experiment with big, bold shapes and bright colors, just like O'Keeffe did!
By the end of the class, you'll have a beautiful, close-up masterpiece to take home and hang on your wall.
