Starting a new medium can feel overwhelming, but this beginner-friendly workshop will easily guide you through the essentials of oil painting. You’ll learn about the key tools and techniques, from selecting brushes and paints to understanding surfaces, color mixing, layering, and brushwork. We’ll also cover important studio safety tips. By the end of the class, you’ll have a solid foundation to explore oil painting independently more confidently. No prior experience is needed!

Materials: All materials will be provided. We encourage participants to bring a small simple object for a still-life reference but will also have items on hand. An 11×14 shallow box is recommended to transport the painting home.
