I started this body of work with the question: what happens to the pieces of our selves, our dreams, our beliefs, that we jettison for the sake of expediency’? As I felt my way through the process the questions grew – What if these crucial parts we let go developed their own sense of self? Who or what would they become? Would they, distilled from our most idealistic selves, become something more wondrous? Or would they eventually fall into the same old patterns out of fear and expediency? Are we capable of reclaiming or reforming these parts?
Join me on Saturday, 20 December at 14:30 for a speculative, anthropological imaginarium, consisting of original watercolour paintings on cotton paper, watercolour on silk, intertwined with text at my studio in the Woodstock Exchange, 66 Albert Road.
