Join us for an evening celebrating Black history, culture & community. Bringing together Southend, Essex —families, leaders, all welcome!
About this Event

Black History Month provides a vital opportunity for people of colour to celebrate their heritage, recognise their history and achievements, and strengthen their sense of identity, confidence and belonging. It connects young people with their roots and positive role models, while challenging misconceptions, encouraging inclusion and creating meaningful conversations about equality and social justice.

At a time when communities continue to face inequality, discrimination and division, Black History Month brings us together to stand against racism, celebrate the extraordinary contributions of Black communities to British society, reclaim our history and inspire how it will be told to future generations.

Join us for the biggest celebration of Black history, culture, achievement and community in Essex! This landmark event commemorates 100 years since the birth of the modern Black history movement in 1926, celebrating generations of contribution, resilience, creativity, and leadership while inspiring the next generation.
