“Mastering Leadership—The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly”
While we certainly have good individual leaders in the fire service, most agencies lack effective, in-house, dynamic leadership training. With the generation and cultural gaps widening, and our experienced leaders retiring at a geometric rate, a leadership pandemic is sweeping the American Fire Service. The result is increased litigation, liability, and gross inefficiency. In addition, ineffectivemness and tarnished public trust are just some of the results of this enormous problem. Ths training is geared toward what excellent leaders are - and are not. We focus on the challenges facing todays leaders, whether a front-line company , battalion chief, of fire chief. Real, motivation, goal setting, the “Old Salt”, the “Baby Boomer”, the “ X/Y generations, the “ Millennial”, “Gen Z, the “recliner Sniper” cultural differences, effective communications, time management, problem solving, conflict resolution, risk management, empowerment, delegation, the “Oreo” factor, customer service, technology, succession planning, personal baggage and many others.
“Mastering Fireground Command—Calm The Chaos”
Command and tactical training is critical to modern officer development. Today’s officers must be excellent leaders and exceptional tacticians. With changes in building construction, tactics, and the latest UL studies regarding fire behavior, modern fireground operations are more complex than ever. The class answers many of the flowing questions and more. How do we ensure in-house ICS/NIMS/NFPA complaint command and tactical training? How do we create consistency among agencies, shifts while developing new officers? How do we ensure rapid size-up and vicim profiling is done consistency? What factos in modern construction and fire behavior mean to tactics and command? Many More!
