OEE The House on Mango Street Book Club
Join us in person for a fun and relaxed book club all about The House on Mango Street by Sandra Cisneros. The book is a coming-of-age novel told through a series of short vignettes. It follows Esperanza Cordero, a young Mexican-American girl, as she navigates growing up in a low-income neighborhood in Chicago.
This book club is hosted by the City of Grand Rapids' Office of Equity & Engagment and s part of our equity-learning opportunities and acknowledges National Hispanic Heritage Month.
Event details:
- Parking vouchers for the City Hall Parking Garage will be offered.
- The Book Club will meet in the Monroe Multipurpose Room 143, which is located on the same floor as the 311 Customer Sevice desk.
- Copies of the book are available upon request and can be picked up from our office starting September 10th. Our office is located in Suite 480 at City Hall (300 Monroe Ave NW Grand Rapids, MI 49503).
- Luch will be provided.
Registration closes September 15th.
