Meet Your Coaches
Coach Heidi

Coach Heidi began playing roller hockey when she was 8 years old. At 15, she transitioned from roller to ice hockey to further pursue her hockey career.

In the 1998-99 season, Heidi played for the Los Angeles Kings’ first all-girls travel ice hockey team, Team LA. In 2001, she had the opportunity to train with the USA Olympic Women’s Hockey Team, and has competed for several years in Division I women’s ice hockey tournaments across the United States.

Heidi began coaching in 2018 and works with ice skaters and hockey players of all levels, including individuals with special needs. She currently head coaches the 16AA Lady Flyers, a club travel team based in Santa Clarita, CA. She has a strong passion for empowering female athletes and helping grow girls’ and women’s hockey. She encourages every athlete that she coaches to be confident, give their best effort, and most importantly, have fun.

Coach Lizzie

Coach Lizzie has nearly 30 years of skating experience with a focus on fundamentals, including edge work and power skating. She specializes in teaching hockey beginners of all ages while tailoring to their individual needs. Lizzie holds a B.A. in Early Childhood Education and brings years of teaching experience into coaching with younger athletes.

In her current role coaching the 16AA Lady Flyers, creating a welcoming, inclusive, and fun environment for athletes is always a top priority in her coaching. She wants her athletes to look forward to coming to the rink, so that they are prepared to give their absolute best on the ice. By putting a strong foundation of mutual trust and support in place, athletes are better prepared to develop skills and hockey IQ.

Coach Sierra

Coach Sierra grew up playing hockey in Connecticut and grew her love for the game by playing street hockey in the driveway and knee hockey with her older brother. She played competitively for both her high school and local travel club for four years.

After moving to California, she began coaching in 2024 when she joined the Los Angeles Kings' Hockey Development team. She continues to grow the game on and off of ice with her "Off-Ice Hockey Coach" persona on social media. Her goal is to create a space for players and fans to feel challenged to grow, but safe to fail in the process.

Coach Christen

Christen Keogh grew up in Connecticut and developed a strong skating foundation through competitive figure skating before switching to hockey in middle school. She played Tier 1 club hockey and won the FCIAC title at her high school, St. Joseph. She attended Berklee College of Music in Boston, studying Vocal Performance, and played club hockey during her time there. Christen moved to Los Angeles in 2013 and began working for the LA Kings during their 2014-2015 season. She has spent the past 11 seasons with the team in the Hockey Development department. Christen began coaching with the Lions in its inaugural season and is now a USA Hockey Level 5 coach. She is currently a coach for Loyola Marymount University's Women's ACHA program and the assistant coach for the 16AAA Lions team. Christen has enjoyed seeing the players she has developed continue their careers at D1, D3, and ACHA programs across the country.
