Our Progressives Lessons continue in October!
We are so very excited to announce that Jive Cat founder Darrick Hildman and Nicole Murphy will be teaching for NoCo Swing Dance this month. This series will start on October 2nd and will run until October 23rd on Wednesday nights in October. We will have an Introduction to Swing Class from 6:00 to 7:00 and an Introduction to Lindy Class from 7:00 to 8:00.
Introduction to Swing:
This class will introduce new dancers to East Coast Swing, Charleston and Lindy Hop. The 4-week series will start by introducing basic 6-count footwork, rock solid lead follow technique as well as a number of moves that can be transitioned to the dance floor right away. We will then incorporate some Charleston and Lindy Hop. This progressive class is geared towards dancers who have never danced before. Introduction to Lindy:
This class builds on the foundational moves and techniques you learned in Introduction to Swing and will focus on additional Lindy Hop 8-count moves including swing outs and the Lindy Circle and Charleston variations. The primary goal of this class will be to have all students feel very comfortable with basic Lindy Hop 8-count moves. Please remember that we absolutely love beginners and no partner is ever needed.
Dance shoes and/or socks will be required at the Masonic Temple Ballroom going forward. If you have questions about this requirement please reach out to us.
Also, please, please, please mention us to your friends. We have found that word of mouth is the best way to get the message out that Fort Collins is a swinging town.
Because this is a four-week series, we will be charging $40. That averages out to $10 a class! If you have already taken the introduction to Lindy class, we encourage dancers to take it again, or many times for that matter, for 1/2 price. Also, if for some reason you cannot afford or justify $40 for swing dance lessons please reach out to us. NoCo Swing Dance wants everyone to have the opportunity to learn this amazing dance.
We take Venmo (@NoCo-SwingDance) or cash or check on or before the first night. Please arrive early so we can get you checked in.
