Wood Rill Scientific And Natural Area | Plymouth, MN

Wood-Rill is one of the remnants of the Big Woods that used to cover much of Minnesota. It is an old growth deciduous forest with primarily sugar maples, basswoods, and oak trees. The fall colors in Wood-Rill are stunning.

Right now it's looking as if Sunday, October 19 would be a good day, based on the MN DNR's Fall Color Finder map. It predicts peak colors around that time in this area.

If you're interested please comment on this post so you'll be notified of updates. I'll post updates as the date approaches. It might be that we have to shift the date a day or so one way or the other depending on weather. I would plan on a 4 p.m. meetup at the Wood-Rill parking lot off of Old Long Lake Road.
