The location of aquatic turtle nest sites is likely to affect hatchling development and their ability to reach water (or overwintering locations). Dr. Steven Freedberg will talk about two recent studies that shed light on this. One looked at whether map turtles exhibit fidelity to nest sites. The other examined how hatchling turtles emerging from nest sites without a view of water can find their way there.
