Henry De Tamble is a librarian with a rare genetic disorder that causes him to involuntarily travel through time. His jumps are unpredictable, often leaving him stranded in different moments of his life, sometimes naked, often vulnerable. Clare Abshire, an artist, has known Henry since she was six and he was thirty-six - thanks to his time travel - but he doesn't meet her in his "present" until he's twenty-eight.
Their relationship unfolds in a non-linear fashion, with Clare living a mostly chronological life while Henry ricochets through time. As they try to build a life together, they wrestle with the constant challenges of Henry’s disappearances and the emotional strain it places on their love, family, and future.
It's a deeply moving tale of fate, longing, and the fragility of time - set against a backdrop that asks what it means to truly know someone when time is never on your side.
