About this Event
Welcome to Project ABLE's Peer Support Specialist Training, adult mental health. This year marks Project ABLE's 20th anniversary! In that time, we have trained more than 1000 peers.
In this 40-hour training, you will gain the skills necessary to foster empowering relationships and to model recovery. We will cover a variety of topics, some of which include the history of mental health treatment, the recovery movement, wellness strategies, conflict resolution skills, identifying the differences between the medical and recovery models, boundaries, confidentiality, and trauma informed peer support. Most importantly, we will be exploring the ethos and philosophy of peer work and how remain true to your role.
