October 7, 2026 STEM PD- Foundations of High-Quality STEM Facilitation
About this Event
STEM Facilitation PD
Participants will explore what defines a high-quality STEM experience in out-of-school-time settings using the Dimensions of Success (DoS) framework. Through hands-on mini-activities and group analysis, participants will identify key elements of strong facilitation including organization, materials use, and creating engaging learning environments. Facilitators will reflect on their current practice and identify one immediate shift they can make in their own program.
The purpose of this series is to provide both new and veteran informal/afterschool educators alike with new tools, resources, and practices to provide high quality STEM experiences to youth in the out of school time environment. The series will engage attendees in a variety of small group, hands on, problem and project-based learning activities. Whether you are comfortable leading STEM activities or not—these sessions are for you to help build capacity in a fun, supportive environment!
*This activity is supported in part by 21st Century Community Learning Center federal funds under Title IV, Part B of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act as amended.
