PRESENTER: Dr. Stephanie Taylor, ASHRAE Distinguished Lecturer

Dr. Stephanie Taylor’s unique career path—combining medicine, research, and architecture—has positioned her as a leading authority on the impact of indoor environments on human health. Her work is particularly significant in establishing how indoor air quality (IAQ), including humidity levels, plays a critical role in health outcomes across all building types.

Dr. Taylor established a unique IAQ health index that quantifies the impact of multi-pollutants on occupant physiology. She is now the Medical Advisor for ThinkLite Air, a company that manufactures premier monitors and remediation products to manage IAQ for occupant health in the most energy efficient way. She writes for Engineered Systems Magazine and publishes in peer-reviewed scientific and healthcare journals. She is an ASHRAE Distinguished Lecturer and is on GP45C and SGP10. She is also a member of the US Green Building Council technical advisory board on IAQ and is a Medical Advisor to the long-term care industry.

Quantifying the impact of IAQ on our physiology, both short and long-term, is a key part of establishing an IAQ health index. Based on a deep understanding of medicine and environmental sciences, Dr. Taylor will present a strategy to measure, analyze and visualize the real-time health impact of IAQ. Furthermore, this holistic approach reveals the most efficient and effective strategy for ventilation, filtration, and air-cleaning.
