Oconee County Volunteer Events 26-27

Help make great 4-H experiences happen!

Oconee 4-H depends on adult volunteers to help us create programs that are safe, welcoming, organized, and fun for youth. This training will cover the basics you need to know to volunteer with Oconee County 4-H during the 2026–27 membership year.

This training is REQUIRED for 4-H Club Leaders and volunteers who actively work with youth, and strongly encouraged for all Oconee 4-H volunteers.

We'll cover information useful to all volunteers, including:

• Volunteer registration, paperwork, and requirements
• Youth safety and Clemson/4-H policies
• Roles, responsibilities, and expectations
• Where to find resources and who to ask when you need help
• Ways to get involved that fit your interests and availability

Not a club leader? You're welcome to leave after this portion, or stay for the rest if you're curious!

The second portion is specifically for current and prospective club leaders and co-leaders. We'll talk about the practical nuts and bolts of keeping a club running, including:

• Planning the club year
• Club charters and bylaws
• Meetings, officers, and youth leadership
• Service opportunities
• Annual events, celebrations, and officer training
• Club requirements and recordkeeping
• Sharing the work among leaders, volunteers, youth, and families
• Resources available through Oconee 4-H

This is also a chance for our club leaders to compare notes, ask questions, share what's working, and help make our countywide club program stronger.

Current or prospective Oconee 4-H adult volunteers.

You do not need to lead a club to be a useful 4-H volunteer! Whether you can help regularly, occasionally, behind the scenes, or with one particular skill or event, there's room for you.

And remember: Oconee 4-H provides one FREE youth membership for each adult who registers or renews as an Oconee 4-H volunteer for 2026–27.

Appetizers/a light meal will be provided.
