Join us as we award the Stony Brook Council University Medal, the university’s highest honor, to His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, spiritual leader of the Eastern Orthodox Church, for his global leadership in environmentalism and interfaith dialogue. Known as the “Green Patriarch,” His All-Holiness has been recognized by world leaders for championing climate action through faith.This event celebrates His All-Holiness’s lifelong work and how it aligns with the mission of our School of Marine and Atmospheric Sciences, Semester by the Sea, and environmental collaborations with Mission Blue and the Shinnecock Nation.
