Ocean Photography using 35mm film with Photographer Kate Atkinson

Learn the art and beauty of black & white photography and how to process your own 35mm film with local photographer Kate Atkinson.

Over two workshops you will learn about light, aperture, film speed and composition with a group outing to one of our many stunning beaches, followed by a hands-on workshop back at the Studio processing the film. You will also learn about scanning and post processing your negatives.

The first workshop will include a tour of ‘Swellchasers’ exhibition at Yarrila Arts and Museum (YAM).

Participants will also have the opportunity to look at a range of vintage medium format cameras, one of which was used to take photographs for the Swell Chasers exhibition.

Film and all processing chemicals provided. Please bring your own SLR camera (we will have 2 available to use if you are not able to bring one)

Workshop 1 – Meet at YAM for tour of ‘Swellchasers’ Exhibition. then at the Jetty - Friday 31 January 2pm – 6pm

Workshop 2 – At the Digital Studio (Yarrila Place) Friday 7 February 2pm – 6pm
