Ocean Photographer of the Year Exhibition | Alameda

Step inside a historic World War II airplane hangar at Alameda Point and experience the ocean like never before. Ocean Photographer of the Year, presented by Oceanographic Magazine and Blancpain, transforms this vast industrial space into an immersive gallery of the world’s most extraordinary ocean photography.

Drawn from more than 15,000 submissions by photographers around the globe, the exhibition features a curated selection of winning and finalist images spanning wildlife, adventure, fine art, conservation, and human connection. From intimate macro encounters to sweeping underwater and aerial perspectives, each photograph captures both the breathtaking beauty of the sea and the urgent need to protect it.

US premiere hosted by West End Arts District

In addition to the international exhibition, visitors can explore the Bay Perspectives Gallery, a dedicated gallery and interactive space connecting global ocean stories to the waters closer to home.

featuring:

• “Edge of the Pacific: Bay Area Perspectives” — local photographers shine a spotlight on the Bay and the Nor Cal pacific shorelines
• A hands-on marine science installation by the Sailing Science Center, where visitors can explore tidal systems and the impacts of marine plastics through interactive learning

The exhibition is open to the public Saturdays and Sundays, 10:00am–6:00pm
