Airsoft is a modern combat sport or recreational hobby in which participants eliminate opponents by hitting each other with spherical airsoft pellets launched from airsoft guns.

Own weapon and safety gear required, No hiring of gear on-site for the first 5 months we do plan to have a hire option in the future once we are up and running.

Participants typically employ the use of varying types of weapons designed as replicas of real firearms. Tactical gear and accessories are also used to enhance the game and mimic equipment used by modern military and police organizations. Airsoft was developed in Japan in the late 1970s to provide an alternative for gun hobbyists because local laws prevented individuals from privately owning firearms. A heavy emphasis was therefore placed on making accurate replicas of real firearms the sport quickly swept through Asia as the de-facto extreme sport growing to a level far surpassing the level reached by paintball in the US. In contrast, Paintball was developed in the United States in 1981 as a variation of hide and seek tag through the use of utility companies paint marking guns, which were used to mark power utility poles. Paintball gained popularity throughout the 80s and early 90s as models became more intricate and realistic. Airsoft made its way to the US in the early 90s and was received as a less expensive and more intense alternative to the costly sport of paintball. Since then Airsoft has quickly gained greater popularity over Paintball due to its realism. low cost of operation. ammo. reliability and intense gameplay.

Gameplay:
Airsoft is based on the honor system!
An honor system is employed whereby the players rely on each other's honesty to admit to being hit. Because unlike paintball the plastic pellets do not leave readily visible markings. Depending on the muzzle velocity of the gun and the distance from which a person is shooting the person on the receiving end of the shot will usually feel a slight pain in the area of impact.
What do I need to get started?
First and foremost you will need safety equipment!
We recommend using a full-face ASTM-rated safety mask to prevent injury.
You will need to select your primary weapon. Most players select their Rifle first as this will allow them to start playing right away.
There are three main types of Airsoft guns:
Automatic Electric Gun (AEG)
Gas Powered(Gas Blow Back and Gas Non Blow Back)
Springers.

I understand:

1. That I must participate in accordance with the stated rules/safety briefing which I will listen to & ask if I do not understand. This activity may involve risks of serious bodily injury if I do not participate according to the rules of the venue as stated on game rule signs and explained to me in the Safety Brief
2. The nature of the activity and that I am in good health to participate if I do not feel well I will notify a member of staff..

3. I WILL NOT REMOVE MY MASK FOR ANY REASON OUTSIDE THE BASE CAMP - DOING SO WILL RESULT IN MY IMMEDIATE EXPULSION FROM THE VENUE.

I confirm and agree that:

1. I understand that OcAirsoft Dublin will endeavor where possible to facilitate such requests (Pt 2) where the same is considered by OcAirsoft Dublin to be safe, appropriate, and reasonably practicable. I further understand that OcAirsoft Dublin reserves the right to refuse admission and/or the right to play at any time.
2. If I do have any injuries, illnesses, or other disability, whether physical or otherwise, requests, requirements, or any other special circumstances which may impact, impair, or in any way affect my ability to fully participate or which may endanger the safety of myself or others, I hereby undertake to advise OcAirsoft Dublin of the full nature and extent of same before Booking in.
3. I fully accept and assume all such risks and all responsibility for losses, costs, and damages I incur as a result of my participation.

4. I will wear the provided full face protection (eye & mouth) and not remove it while in the game area.
5. I am aware I may be in photos or videos that may be taken/made by OcAirsoft Dublin or other players unknown or known to them and I consent to those images & content being used for OcAirsoft Dublin promotional or marketing activities.

6. I will wear suitable clothing and footwear at all times, including clothing that covers the entirety of my arms and legs.

Release:-

I hereby release, discharge, and covenant not to claim against OcAirsoft Dublin, its servants, and agents, or any other individual acting on behalf and with the lawful authority of OcAirsoft Dublin, other participants, and if applicable, owners/lessors of the premises on which the Activity takes place, (hereinafter called “RELEASES”) from all liability, claims, demands, losses, or damages on my account caused or alleged to be caused in whole or in part by the negligence of the “Releases” or otherwise, including negligent rescue operations.

I further agree that if, despite the release, waiver of liability, and assumption of risk I, or anyone on my behalf, makes a claim against any of the Releases, I will indemnify, save, and hold harmless each of the releases from any loss, liability, damage, or cost which any may incur as the result of such claim.

I HAVE READ THIS RELEASE AND WAIVER OF LIABILITY, ASSUMPTION OF RISK, and INDEMNITY AGREEMENT.

I hereby release, remise and forever discharge from any claims and liabilities whatsoever without limitations that I might have against OcAirsoft Dublin and the owners of the property on which the game is being played.
