The Brea Gallery is proud to be partnering with the OC Zine Fest this year! Enjoy vendors & artists with a wide range of self-published Zines, and participate in workshops and other interactive activities.Zines are a celebration of identity and community. They usually consist of DIY handmade booklets or pamphlets expressing personal or shared ideas. Some include poetry, photography, illustrations, and mixed or found media; they can be designed like magazines or comics or books, it can have all of those elements or none- zines can be anything you want them to be! The goal is not perfection, but enjoying and sharing the creative and experimental process with others.
The Orange County Zine Fest was started by a network of artists, writers, musicians, designers, poets and activists engaged in DIY culture and zines, specifically in the OC and surrounding cities in 2014. Their goal is to connect zine makers across the county and southern California area with each other, and to inspire others to discover zines, chapbooks and other handmade, self-published works as an alternative form of expression.
This event is free and suitable for all ages!
