In this talk Dr. Alina Potemska will discuss her work with serious games and games as an expressive form of art. She will analyze games through the lens of illustration and a variety of game projects she has worked on to address serious issues like the refugee crisis and cultural diversity.Dr. Alina Potemska is a London-based game design researcher and educator specialising in serious games, ethics in games and overlap between game and art. With a PhD in Game Design and expertise in illustration, game art, and digital arts, she integrates research and practice to address societal issues. She is a Senior Lecturer & Course Leader at Arts University Bournemouth and a Lecturer at University of the Arts London. Recognised for her contributions, she was shortlisted for the 2024 TIGA Research Excellence Award.
