The Oak Hill Fire Rescue (OHFR) Summer Camp is a free full-day program scheduled for June 15 - 20, 2026. The camp takes place from Monday to Saturday, with daily hours from 8 am to 4 pm. The week concludes with a family cookout on Saturday evening, scheduled from 5 pm to 6 pm.
Founded in 2017, the Oak Hill Fire Rescue (OHFR) Summer Camp Program consists of youth ages 12 to 17 and was designed to provide school-aged children with a firsthand experience of being a firefighter and fostering a sense of community within our program. The Program’s mission is to encourage youth by fostering teamwork, responsibility, and leadership through engaging in educational firefighting activities to learn about the numerous aspects of the fire service and volunteering.
Oak Hill Fire Rescue aims to create a safe and enjoyable environment where children can explore the various facets of the fire service, develop essential skills, and gain hands-on experience with fire equipment. Many participants continue to develop their skills by joining the OHFR Junior Firefighter program open to all youth regardless of district ages 14-17.
Throughout the week, camp participants will have short periods of lectures and lessons each day, followed by opportunities to actively participate in exercises designed to reinforce what they have learned. The activities will center on the day and life of a firefighter, covering fire operations, life safety issues, CPR, search and rescue, and other interesting topics. Attendees may be divided into teams, which will operate as a "fire company" for their activities.
Thank you for considering Oak Hill Fire Rescue Camp as a summer activity for your child. We believe that your child will have a great time while learning valuable skills that they can carry throughout their lives. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Applications are available at Station 1 in the window tray, by FB messenger, or by emailing [email protected]
ALL FORMS MUST BE TURNED IN BY May 18, 2026 to receive a free T-shirt. T-shirts may be available for purchase after the deadline. All other applications will be accepted until June12, 2026.
