Oak Cliff Knitting Circle
Date: Thursday, 8/27
Time: 12:00–1:30 PM
Location: Kuluntu Bakery
Bring your knitting, a work in progress (or a project you’re hoping to start), and settle into an afternoon of slow making, good conversation, coffee, and community.
Oak Cliff Knitting Circle is a welcoming gathering for knitters and fiber artists of all experience levels.
While knitting is the craft that brings us together, crochet and other fiber arts are absolutely welcome too.
Bring whatever you’re making and join us for some time spent creating alongside one another.
Knitting is a communal craft, passed from one pair of hands to another through stories, patience, and shared time.
This circle is a small way of honoring that lineage while creating new connections in our Oak Cliff community.
We’ll begin by arriving together with a little gentle movement and breath to warm up our hands, wrists, shoulders, and neck, followed by a simple introduction so we can get to know the people sharing the circle. Then we’ll settle into our crafts and conversation.
Throughout our time together, we’ll weave in simple conversation prompts—stories about who taught us to make, what we’re creating, what inspires us, and the things we’ve learned along the way.
There’s no pressure to participate; you’re welcome to make quietly, chat, or move between the two.
Beginner makers are welcome!
This is not a class and there will be no formal instruction, but you’re welcome to bring questions, share what you know, and learn alongside one another.
Children are wholeheartedly welcome. Kuluntu Bakery has a small children’s area, making it easy for little ones to have a place to play while caregivers create and connect.
This is a space where you don’t have to wonder whether your children can come.
They belong here too.
The bakery will be open for coffee, tea, pastries, and other treats to enjoy while you make.
Bring:
• Your current project or supplies to start one
• Your yarn, needles, hooks, or other materials
• Your questions, stories, or favorite craft tips
Whether you’re hoping to make new fiber-art friends, build confidence through practice, share your knowledge, or simply spend an afternoon away from screens with your hands busy and good people around you, we’d love to have you.
All skill levels welcome.
All fiber arts welcome.
Children welcome.
Come make with us!
