Join us for an Open Play Meetup at Oak & Brazen Wine Company from 5:00 to 9:00 on the fourth Thursday of the month! Come for snacks/dinner at 5:00! Mahjong play to start after around 6:00pm.
Please note: per your request, we are moving to the regular tables with regular backs. The barrel tables with stools made an uncomfortable evening!
Come and enjoy an evening of open play! Whether you are a seasoned player or just learning the tiles, this is a casual open play night designed for fun and friendly competition!
We are so excited to able to host our meetup at Oak & Brazen Wine Company. Let’s show them our appreciation with a purchase of food and drinks! We wouldn’t be able to host public events like this without the support of businesses like Oak & Brazen!
Open Play is best suited for players already familiar with Mahjong rules. Due to the fast pace of games, it is difficult to teach rules or basics during Open Play Meetups.
We do welcome all levels of playing experience. Players BRAND NEW to Mahjong should attend one of our quarterly Mahjong 101 Learning Sessions before joining us at an Open Play Meetup. This allows us to support beginners in a dedicated learning setting. Mahjong 101 nights can be found under the Events tab.
Bring your NMJL card! The availability of cards to borrow will be extremely limited.
Please RSVP so we have an idea of how many people to expect! Oak & Brazen will be reserving tables for us so please be mindful of your RSVP status and make updates if your plans change! Bring your mahjong set and mat if you have one! If we have more players than we have game spots, we will rotate players so everyone will have a chance to play!
