O: Moderate 6.5mile, 1000ft gain hike. Experience the western trails of Whiting Ranch Wilderness Park. As we hike Borrego Canyon, Red Rock Canyon, & Mustard Road trails. There will be extended breaks at Red Rock Canyon and western Vista Lookout. Special Guest, Professional Geologist Jay Schneider will hike along with us and describe some interesting geological features. Restrooms are only at beginning of hike. Meet in the parking lot between McDonalds & CVS across Portola Pkwy. Bring hiking boots, 2 quarts water, snacks, 10 essentials. Rain cancels. Optional dinner after hike.
