𝗜𝗻𝗳𝗼 & 𝗧𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗲𝘁𝘀 ⟶ bozar.link/4buxI8KO Corno (The Rye Horn), a Belgian-Spanish-Portuguese co-production, is the second feature film by Spanish director Jaione Camborda. The film paints a moving portrait of Maria, a woman fighting to maintain her identity under the Franco regime in the 1970s. After an unexpected event, she is forced to flee from her native Galicia. During her journey across the Portuguese border, she gets help from several women from different backgrounds. Those encounters make her begin to question her ideas about motherhood and femininity. The images by Portuguese cinematographer Rui Poças are so tactile that you can almost feel the wet grey sands of the Galician island sink under your toes.
Jaione Camborda was born in San Sebastian, Spain, and studied at the TV School of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague and the University of Television and Film, Munich. She directed the feature film Arima (2019). O Corno (2023) is her latest film.
