Kauila Haumea is not only the founder of ʻOhana Waʻa Laulima, he is the very heartbeat behind Nā Hōkū Hoe. His deep love for performing—and his dream of seeing local talent shine on a larger stage—sparked the vision that brought this showcase to life.
A respected Kahu and practitioner of Hawaiian ʻOli, Kauila has shared his voice and presence at countless events throughout East Hawaiʻi. From open mic nights to local markets, his passion for music, culture, and connection continues to inspire all who hear him.
This performance is more than a song or chant—it’s a reflection of purpose, ʻike kūpuna, and the power of community coming together as one.
