About this Event
On Tuesday 24 March 2026, Sarah Jerebine KC, Jack Cheng and Pooja Sundar will lead a discussion on “Recent issues in immigration law and practice” at Bankside Chambers, Auckland. NZ Asian Lawyers has invited them to share suggestions and experiences at all levels of the immigration process from Immigration NZ to the Courts. We hope it will be useful for members with matters in this busy area, which can often involve Asian clients. There will be a short talk by each panel member on different topics, followed by a general discussion allowing for questions from participants.
Sarah Jerebine KC is a senior civil litigation lawyer, with particular expertise in public law and commercial litigation gained in leading national practices both here and in the UK. She regularly appears in the senior courts, often acting for or against the Crown on complex litigation of public interest. At, and since, her time at Crown Law, Sarah has regularly appeared in the senior courts on immigration matters.
Jack Cheng is an experienced immigration lawyer and former Meredith Connell partner with over 20 years of experience. Originally from Taiwan, he is a multilingual expert in complex immigration matters. He advises a diverse range of individual and corporate clients in New Zealand and across the globe.
Pooja Sundar is a specialist immigration lawyer and mediator with a reputation for handling complex, novel, and high-stakes immigration cases. She has extensive experience in appeals and litigation, including proceedings before the Immigration and Protection Tribunal and in the Courts. She often acts on cases where the law is unsettled and the consequences are significant.
