About this Event

We’re pleased to invite you to the CFA Forecast Lunch—CFA Society NZ’s annual signature event—a highlight on the investment industry calendar. It’s a unique opportunity to connect with peers over lunch and engage with thought leaders on the trends shaping markets and portfolios.

For group or table bookings, please contact [email protected]

Tickets are priced at $75 (inc gst) for CFA Members and $95 (inc gst) for non-members, plus an Eventbrite ticketing fee.

Your ticket includes:

  • Delicious 2-course plated lunch: drinks on arrival and at your table.
  • Forecaster of the Year competition: a light-hearted review of the past year. The Forecaster of the Year will be announced, and attendees will make their predictions for 2027. There’s a lot of luck involved so it’s not too serious!
  • Special Panel Discussion: KiwiSaver – its evolving role in retirement and investment strategy.

Special Panel Discussion

Alongside the popular forecast competition, this year’s lunch features a special panel session on one of the most pressing issues for New Zealand’s financial future: KiwiSaver – its evolving role in retirement and investment strategy.

Recent findings from the Retirement Commission highlight the growing gap between what many Kiwis are saving and what they will likely need. This raises critical questions: Are current KiwiSaver settings fit for purpose? Should contribution rates, default fund structures, or withdrawal rules be adjusted? Political parties are signalling different approaches to retirement policy, and these decisions will have far-reaching consequences—not only for individuals but also for businesses, financial markets, and the investment community. For the industry, understanding these dynamics is essential to navigating portfolio strategies and capital allocation in a changing regulatory and economic environment.

Our expert panel includes:

  • Dr Michelle Reyers, CFA – Policy Lead, Retirement Commission
  • Liam Dann – Political Commentator & Journalist
  • Sam Stubbs – Managing Director, Simplicity
  • Moderated by Christina Leung, CFA – CFA Society NZ Vice Chair

CFA Society New Zealand has determined that this program qualifies for 1 PL credit hour under the guidelines of the CFA Institute Professional Learning program.
Refund policy: no refunds will be provided but if you can no longer attend, contact [email protected] to reallocate your ticket.
