About this Event
About this event
We have invited Stefanie Stead MBE, from Stead & Co. Architects, to discuss the importance of community engagement with specific reference to Otley Common, a project to transform Otley Methodist Church into a vibrant social, cultural and entrepreneurial hub.
She will discuss how to embed community stories into the design work, resulting in a development plan that has evolved in parallel with the business plan that has been truly co-created with the local community.
As architects, our role here is to be the curator of these community stories, and knit them together with the wider contexts of legislation, compliance and planning. Using Otley COMMON as a case study, we will look at how the building is bought through community shares, how we are engaging and what the plans are for the building.
We hope you can join us and look forward to seeing you at the event.
Regards,
NYSA
