CHRIS BIO
As roots music renaissance performer and multi-instrumentalist, Chris Silver has made a name for himself as a songwriter and is known throughout the U.S. for his virtuosity on guitar, mandolin, and fiddle.
His music is soulful and innovative and takes the listener to a musical space where Americiana roots music is fused with jazz, blues, folk and country with the sensibility of a contemporary singer/songwriter.
Silver’s career began as a bluegrass musician performing at local Twin Cities clubs throughout the mid 1980s. In the late 80s and early 90s he performed with the nationally touring band, Stoney Lonesome and made multiple appearances on national radio and television shows, festivals, and concert halls through the U.S. and three continents. He changed his musical direction in the early 2000s to weave roots, Americana, blues and global influences, refining a sound that is recognizable for its emotional power. His live song lists and recordings include his own songs along with timeless gems.
ARI BIO
Hailing from River Falls, Wisconsin, Ari grew up immersed in bluegrass and Americana music. He spent weekends tagging along with his father, a professional musician, to bluegrass and folk festivals, learning everything he could from workshops to open stages and forming mentor relationships with national performing musicians and songwriters. By the time he was in high school, he was fronting a premier bluegrass band as a lead singer and guitarist performing in the midwest circuit. Ari also began writing songs and blending his passion for rock and roll with bluegrass to create his signature captivating solo performances. Ari’s music is a fusion of tradition with modern storytelling creating a sound that is both timeless and innovative.
A graduate of East Tennessee State University’s Bluegrass and Old-Time Music Studies program, Ari now lives in Jonesborough Tennessee and considers the Smokey Mountain region his home. Ari is dedicated to making music, and has performed on guitar with Valerie Smith and Liberty Pike, and on mandolin with Dave Adkins and Mountain Soul. Ari is currently performing throughout the United States as a solo artist, on guitar and vocals with Liam Purcell and Cane Mill Road, and leading the country rock band, Tennessee Lightning.
As a performing songwriter, Ari’s live performances are a testament to his dedication to the craft, as he effortlessly weaves together melodies and instrumental solos full of incredible energy. His performances continue to build a strong following throughout the United States and Canada.
The hat will be passed. We ask for a minimum of $6 per adult listener. All money is for the artists.
