NYCR Rapid and Blitz

Join Bushwick Chess for an official NYCR rated event. Chess clubs around New York are playing under a unified rating system and we're thrilled to announce a chance at gaining rating in both the Rapid and Blitz categories at once.
In a two tournament event, players will face off first in a 5 round 10|2 rapid tournament followed by a 7 round 5|2 blitz tournament. Prizes for Top Players, Class Prizes and more for both events. This will be the first time chess players meet at the esteemed BrookLAN since the NYCC Olympiad in September.

Rules:
Touch Move
The touch-move rule in chess specifies that a player, having the move, who deliberately touches a piece[a] on the board must move or capture that piece if it is legal to do so. If it is the player's piece that was touched, it must be moved if the piece has a legal move. If the opponent's piece was touched, it must be captured if it can be captured with a legal move. If the touched piece cannot be legally moved or captured, there is no penalty. This is a rule of chess that is enforced in all formal over-the-boardcompetitions.

Behavior
Players exhibiting poor behavior/sportsmanship to a degree in which it disrupts the tournament hall will be expelled from the event no exceptions. No racism, sexism, xenophobia, transphobia or hate of any kind is tolerated.
Dropping Out
Leaving during tournaments is absolutely allowed, but please inform the TD before the next round so you are no longer paired.
Ratings
Ratings for this event will be release one week after the tournament.
