NWIC is bringing back its Pow Wow! Please join us on Friday and Saturday April 17 - April 18, 2026 for a Coastal Jam & contest Pow Wow!
Both events will be held at NWIC's Health & Wellness Center (Building 24) at NWIC's Lummi Campus, 2522 Kwina Rd., Bellingham, WA 98226.
The Coastal Jam begins Friday, April 17, 2026 at 6 p.m.
The Pow Wow begins Saturday, April 18, 2026 with grand entries at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. It is a contest pow wow. These events are free and open to the public! (More details shared below).
Pow Wow Details:
-Grand Entries at 1 p.m. & 7 p.m.
-Host Drum: The Northmen
-Arena Director: Antone George
-MC: Michael Vendiola
-Singing Contest Prizes: 1st place = $4,000; 2nd place = $3,000; 3rd place = $2,000; 2 Consolations = $500
-Men's Golden Age (55+) & Women's Golden Age (55+)
--Prizes: 1st place = $400; 2nd place = $300; 3rd place = $200
-Adult Categories (18-54) of Fancy, Jingle, Grass, Traditional
--Prizes: 1st place = $400; 2nd place = $300; 3rd place = $200
-Teen Categories (13-17) of Fancy, Jingle, Grass, Traditional
--Prizes: 1st place = $300; 2nd place = $200; 3rd place = $100
-Junior Categories (7-12) of Fancy, Jingle, Grass, Traditional
--Prizes: 1st place = $200; 2nd place = $100; 3rd place = $75
