Join us for the first open breed race of the 2026 season at Kingower State Forest (Campsite Area off of Orchid Dam Rd).
This race is two heats, both held in the morning and run under the ASSA Rules 2026 (v2.4). Our Race Marshal is Daniel Kydd.
Check-in from 3pm Friday 8th of May or Saturday 5:30am 9th of May. Compulsory drivers meetings 6:30am 9th of May and 10th of May, for a 7am start both days (subject to change due to weather conditions - competitors will be advised of changes).
All open classes will be seeded starts for Heat 1 (fastest out first) followed by timed order (fastest out first) for Heat 2. Social classes will be randomised starts for Heat 1 and timed order (fastest out first) for Heat 2. All wheeled classes will be singular staggered starts of either 1 minute or 30 seconds (weather dependant) and Canicross will be 15 second staggered starts.

2/1 Dog Veteran / Novice (2km approx.)
Open Touring (Rig, 1/2 Dog Scooter, Bikejor) (2km approx.)
Pee Wees (500m approx.)
PRIZES
Sashes - 1st, 2nd, 3rd Place in all classes, Red Lantern, 1st Place Nordic breed in each class
This race counts towards the NVSDC Club Pointscore and ASSA Working Dog Titles.
All dogs in attendance must be kept under effective control with up to date with C3 vaccinations. Random spot checks for vaccination status will apply. Competitors drawn for a check will be notified at the first drivers meeting.
