Nutrition & Lineage Healing: For Birthworkers
About this Event
Join us for a free two-part workshop series designed for doulas, midwives, lactation counselors, birth companions, and other birth workers. Rooted in holistic nutrition and inspired by my studies at Bauman College, this series explores how food can become a powerful tool for postpartum healing, cultural preservation, and community care.
During our first workshop, participants are asked to bring one nourishing dish they would prepare for a birthing or postpartum family. Together, we'll reflect on its nutritional value and discuss how it supports healing and recovery. Between sessions, participants will partner together to create an ancestral-inspired recipe or remedy, gathering outside of class to cook, collaborate, and share cultural traditions.
Through cooking, storytelling, and shared learning, we'll begin creating the recipes and traditions we wish to pass on, transforming nourishment into an act of lineage healing, love, and collective care.
Please Note: This is a collaborative two-part workshop series. Participants will be paired for a community project, so RSVP only if you can attend both workshops.
