About this Event
Join us at Nurturing Connection & Cuddles| Community Care. Where people come together to relax, relate and connect to themselves and each other. All genders, orientations, individuals, groups and couples all welcome. No touch is ever required, and setting boundaries is both encouraged and celebrated!
In response to the devastation of the recent fires, our intention for this event is to foster community care. We’ll have a resource table with information and opportunities to give to displaced families and the most vulnerable members of the community, as well as info on volunteer opportunities and free or low cost mental health resources.
This is a Pay-What-You-Can event. Venmo and Zelle info will be available in your confrimation email. Thank you!
Expectations and Experience:
Please note this event is a Cuddle "Lab" :: The prerequiste being your attendance at one cuddle class, led by a trained cuddle facilitator, or experience with consent practices such as Wheel of Consent, or similar
Our cuddle lab is a guided social experience that includes a welcome circle, mindful body & breath exercises, practices deepening our awareness of consent, and a brief overview of cuddle etiquette, and then ample time to explore cuddle and consent practices freely.
We will integrate together, in circle, at the end of the event.
Cuddle Guidelines:
These guidelines are like the “etiquette of cuddling." We’ll go over all of them and answer any questions you have during the workshop. Here are some important ones:
- Keep attendance confidential (unless given permission).
- There’s no touch required (and you can change your mind at any time).
- Respect the boundaries of others (ideally with enthusiasm).
- Keep activities at a Rated G level and conversation at PG-13.
- Ask and Wait - if you want to touch someone, ask: Then wait for the answer.
You can learn about our Code of Ethics here.
What to wear:
Dress in clothes that you can move in and won't bind you up. Feel free to change clothes when you arrive.
Hygiene is important at cuddles - be squeaky clean and minty fresh - it's easier to get close that way! (Note: come free of perfumes, colognes, body spray, and cigarette smoke. Some of us have sensitive noses - thanks!)
What to bring:
You are welcome to bring pillows or blanket - If you can bring a yoga mat it would be great to have extra padding for comfort.
Please bring water to drink, as hydrating is important and a helpful way to ground afterward.
You are also welcome to bring a healthy snack or drink to share. (No alcohol please.)
Intoxicants:
Please arrive and remain sober throughout the event.
ACCESSIBILITY - Moving in the space:
The entrance to our cuddle space has two standard steps up.
Our event space will be an open wood floor with pads and pillows - most of our exercises and the cuddling will take place on the floor. Chair and couch will also be available. If you are concerned about your ability to get up and down from the floor to a standing position, please contact us to discuss accommodation: jesse.echoparklife@gmail .com
